Mickey Lee, a contestant on the most recent season of Big Brother<\/a>, has died aged 35.<\/p>\n Lee died Thursday evening. Her family shared the news Friday via Instagram.<\/p>\n \u201cMickey captured the hearts of audiences nationwide through her appearance on Big Brother<\/a>, where her authenticity, strength and spirit left a lasting impression on fans and fellow cast members alike,\u201d the family\u2019s statement said. <\/p>\n \u201cShe will be remembered for the joy she brought into the lives of so many and for the genuine connections she formed both on and off screen.\u201d<\/p>\n Lee\u2019s family shared news of her worsening health earlier this week when a GoFundMe<\/a> was launched to support mounting medical bills.<\/p>\n \u201cMickey recently suffered a series of cardiac arrests following complications from the flu and is now in the ICU in critical but stable condition,\u201d the GoFundMe\u2019s description read in part. \u201cShe has been surrounded by medical professionals and loved ones, but the road ahead will be long and challenging.\u201d<\/p>\n Lee\u2019s family was asking for financial help for costs such as her ICU and specialist care, rehabilitation and recovery support and medical expenses that are not covered by insurance. As of December 26, GoFundMe has raised more than $32,000 and has a $40,000 goal. <\/p>\n Many Big Brother alums shared their condolences to Lee\u2019s family and expressed how much they loved her on Instagram. <\/p>\n \u201cShe will always be remembered and I am beyond grateful to have had the opportunity to get to know her for the short period I did- she shared so much light with us and was such an amazing,\u201d Rachel Reilly, who starred on season 12 and 13 of Big Brother, commented on the post from Lee\u2019s family. \u201cSorry for your loss and my prayers for your family RIP MICKEY you are missed – love to all of you.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThis is so heartbreaking. I\u2019m so happy she got to live out an experience of a lifetime on Big Brother and share her light with the world,\u201d Big Brother Canada season 12 winner, Bayleigh Pelham, also commented. \u201cI\u2019m honoured to have met her for a brief moment. She was SO kind and beautiful, I was truly amazed by her light. This one hurts. Sending all my love to her family and friends.\u201d<\/p>\n Big Brother season 25 star, Mecole Hayes, added: \u201cMickey. This is so devastating. We are incredibly sad for this unfortunate loss.
