Ryan Brierley will return to Salford next season, after being confirmed on Christmas Eve to be the phoenix club\u2019s new CEO.<\/p>\n
The full-back has called time on his career to move into the off-field role<\/a>, after spending 14 seasons as a player, with the final four of those being at the Red Devils.<\/p>\n He would move to Championship side Oldham in the second half of 2025, as he left the club to try and ease their finances, alongside Jack Ormondroyd.<\/p>\n After Mason Caton-Brown\u2019s consortium bid to become the new owners of the phoenix side, he will be part of his boyhood club once again.<\/p>\n In a statement posted on his Instagram, Brierley said: \u201cIncredibly honoured to announce I have been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Salford RLFC.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI would like to place on record my gratitude to the board members Malcolm Crompton, Mason Caton Brown and Paul Hancock for this opportunity. I would also like to thank the RFL and Salford City Council for their continued support.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cLastly but most importantly, to the Salford fans, what we had to go through last year was heart-breaking. I think I can speak to the wider Rugby League community and echo the sentiments of all fans that no club should ever go through that experience.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThank you for letting me lead this organisation into a new era, I\u2019ve always said Salford people are my people and I will protect this club, with its best interests at heart.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt is important expectations are managed and patience is required.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAll I ask for is the same support you have always given me and I have no doubt in my mind that you will go above and beyond, it\u2019s just what Salford fans do\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n Salford will kick off their 2026 campaign against Oldham, as they have just three weeks to build a fully-functioning rugby league side.<\/a><\/p>\n
