Boasting an incredible 13 weeks at the Official Singles Chart summit in 2025 (12 of those consecutive),\u00a0Ordinary\u00a0saw Alex become the US artist with the longest-running UK Number 1 single\u00a0ever, surpassing\u00a0Slim Whitman<\/a>, who managed 11 consecutive weeks at the top with\u00a0Rose Marie<\/a>\u00a0way back in 1955.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Alex also bagged the longest-running Official Number 1 single of the 2020s in the process, steamrolling ahead of Ed Sheeran\u2019s\u00a0Bad Habits, which managed 11 weeks at the top in 2021.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In 2025,\u00a0Ordinary\u00a0amassed a total of\u00a02.2 million\u00a0UK chart units, the most\u00a0streamed track of the year, boasting\u00a0262\u00a0million\u00a0combined UK audio and video streams.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0also the most-downloaded single of 2025 (51,000).\u00a0So\u00a0out of the ordinary!\u00a0<\/p>\n

And the good news\u00a0doesn\u2019t\u00a0end there.\u00a0Alex also finds\u00a0Carry You Home<\/a>\u00a0inside the year-end Top 40 at Number\u00a030.\u00a0The track, which peaked at Number 9 in the UK back in April,\u00a0clocked\u00a01 million\u00a0UK chart\u00a0units\u00a0in 2025.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Undoubtedly one of the year\u2019s biggest breakout stars,\u00a0Olivia Dean<\/a>\u00a0claims the official biggest\u00a0song released in 2025 with\u00a0Man I Need<\/a>\u00a0(9).\u00a0One of the standout cuts from Olivia\u2019s chart-topping second album\u00a0The Art Of Loving<\/a>,\u00a0the UK streamed\u00a0Man I Need\u00a0119\u00a0million\u00a0times this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the year that\u00a0Oasis<\/a>\u00a0staged\u00a0arguably the\u00a0biggest reunion in the history of popular music,\u00a0would you believe that\u00a0The Kooks<\/a>\u2019\u00a0unassuming\u00a02006\u00a0hit\u00a0Na\u00efve<\/a>\u00a0actually\u00a0sold\u00a0and streamed more in the UK than\u00a0any\u00a0Oasis song (71).<\/p>\n
