The fallout of the festive season is still looming over Emmerdale<\/a> as the residents of the Yorkshire-based soap face an explosive start to 2026.<\/p>\n

With 2025 rapidly coming to a close, Christmas<\/a> in the Dales left many questions for viewers who watched as Aaron and Robert came under threat from Kev Townsend who refused to let things lie.<\/p>\n

His return to the village provoked fear among the couple who were hoping to finally live their happy ever after, particularly following John Sugden’s reign of terror earlier on in the year.<\/p>\n

Also over Christmas, villain Celia made swift plans to leave the village behind as things were getting too close to comfort – but Ray had his hopes set on a future with Laurel Thomas as the pair shared a romantic festive lunch.<\/p>\n

As Sarah and Jacob planned a gender reveal party, Charity’s conscience was left in knots as she feared that Vanessa would tell Mackenzie Boyd everything following a tipsy Christmas morning.<\/p>\n

Now as 2026 rolls in, a new bundle of drama is set to impact the village – not to mention some of our beloved characters from the Dales will be crossing over with Coronation Street<\/a> in a special hour-long episode for the ITV<\/a> soaps.<\/p>\n

As a life-changing event dangles in front of the residents, the New Year period will bring many more fireworks to the village. Emmerdale have confirmed what viewers can expect in episodes airing from Monday December 29 to Friday January 2.<\/p>\n

There is a threat to life in the village this week as danger looms large for more than one character. Meanwhile, it becomes apparent that Jai Sharma knows too much, and with his spiteful temperament, we wonder if he will spill the beans, getting people into trouble.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the village, Charity makes matters worse and April finds out something shocking and wants to help – but what is this revelation?<\/p>\n
