Two seasons in, and the\u00a0Fallout\u00a0TV show<\/a> may soon expand its horizons. Not with a spinoff set in the same universe with new characters, but a reality competition show, of all things.<\/p>\n

Per reporter Jeff Sneider, the streamer\u2019s got designs on such a project dubbed\u00a0Fallout Shelter.\u00a0He alleges the series will take place inside one or perhaps multiple Vaults, and take inspiration from the video game of the same name where a player (dubbed the \u201cOverseer\u201d) manages their Vault and its citizens by giving them food, supplies, and generally making sure they survive. Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy are expected to executive produce this series, as they do for the adaptation.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Fallout Shelter\u00a0game debuted on mobile back in 2015 and was the first mobile spinoff for the franchise. (It\u2019s since been ported to other systems, including Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.) If it\u2019s true that Prime Video\u2019s expanding the franchise with a competition show, it\u2019s not\u00a0too\u00a0surprising: the streamer already has series for Mr. Beast<\/a> and 007<\/a>, and Netflix has a similar offshoot for\u00a0Squid Game<\/a>, which recently wrapped its second season and will get a third<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Does that make it good that Fallout\u2019s post-apocalyptic setting may end up the backdrop for an otherwise standard reality show? Not really. Either way, we\u2019ll have more on this show as news emerges, and whether Prime will make an in-universe Fallout spinoff, or even just more seasons of the main show.<\/p>\n
