Johnny Carson\u2019s\u00a0tenure on NBC\u2019s \u201cThe Tonight Show\u201d produced many iconic moments.<\/p>\n
In the new book, \u201cLove Johnny Carson,\u201d Carson\u2019s superfan Mark Malkoff details some of the most legendary moments on the show, including a blowup between Hollywood juggernauts, Zsa Zsa Gabor and Marlon Brando.<\/p>\n
According to the book, Brando and Gabor appeared on the show alongside one another in May 1963, when Carson filmed episodes of the show live from Burbank, California.<\/p>\n
\u201cBrando walked out drunk and sat down next to Johnny\u2019s previous guest, socialite and actress Zsa Zsa Gabor, who had been promoting her new face cream,\u201d Malkoff wrote.<\/p>\n
While the two started off cordial, with Brando \u201ccalling Zsa Zsa fascinating\u00a0and charming,\u201d the love between them quickly faded, as Gabor began interrupting Brando constantly.<\/p>\n

Things continued to spiral downward after Brando \u201ctold a weak knock-knock joke that garnered polite applause,\u201d which Gabor pointed out, saying, \u201cOnly for Marlon Brando would they applaud for that.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cZsa Zsa changed the subject back to her face cream, rehashing the product\u2019s incomparable benefits. \u2018Are we going to have to sit here all night and listen to your crappy plugs?\u2019 Brando asked,\u201d according to the book.<\/p>\n
Malkoff continues by saying that the conversation soon turned into an exchange of insults, after which \u201cZsa Zsa got up and stormed off the set,\u201d while a still-drunk \u201cBrando offered a sly smile.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brando is often regarded as one of the best actors of all-time. Throughout his career, the actor received eight Academy Award nominations, winning in 1955 and 1973 for his roles in \u201cOn the Waterfront\u201d and \u201cThe Godfather,\u201d respectively.<\/p>\n
The actor worked in Hollywood for over 50 years and had over 40 credits to his name, including both feature films and television projects.<\/p>\n
While he continued to act, Brando\u2019s career slowed down in the 1980s and into the early 2000s, with his final on-screen performance being in the 2001 movie, \u201cThe Score.\u201d <\/p>\n

He died in July 2004 at the age of 80 from respiratory failure related to pulmonary fibrosis and congestive heart failure.<\/p>\n
