Rangers are set to take on St. Mirren on Tuesday in what could be a crucial match in getting their title ambitions back on track.<\/p>\n

The Gers returned to winning ways last week when they overcame Motherwell 1-0 at Ibrox.<\/p>\n

Despite Motherwell having a penalty claim turned down<\/a>, it was a routine victory for Danny Rohl\u2019s<\/a> side, and they could have easily won by more.<\/p>\n

Now, after Hearts lost to Hibernian<\/a> on the weekend, the title race has opened up yet again, and Rangers<\/a> will be hoping to close the gap as the weeks go on.<\/p>\n

However, with St. Mirren up next, they will have to overcome a side who have proved to be a bogey team in recent years.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Rangers aiming to avoid five-match winless run against St. Mirren<\/p>\n

In the Gers\u2019 last four meetings against St. Mirren, they are winless.<\/p>\n

Last season, the Buddies picked up two victories against the Old Firm side before drawing 2-2 post-split.<\/p>\n

Going into the game, questions have been directed towards Jack Butland by the media as Rangers prepare for their final game of 2025.<\/p>\n

The goalkeeper has been ever-present this season for the Gers and made multiple fine saves in their victory over Motherwell.<\/p>\n

With Rangers now nine points behind Hearts with a game in hand, Butland believes that they can still challenge for the title despite their disastrous start to the season.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think why I feel confident is because we\u2019re not as good as we can be yet,\u201d Butland said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf we were and felt like we were the finished article and everything was perfect and we were losing games and getting beaten by things and being hard done by, then it might be (different).<\/p>\n
