The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has announced alterations to State Pensions and benefits over the New Year period, specifically for those whose scheduled payments fall on certain dates.<\/p>\n
Both HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has released online guidance detailing changes to benefit payment dates.<\/p>\n
This is because offices, web services and telephone lines typically shut down on the same days during the festive season. Therefore, DWP and HMRC ensure payments are made on a day when offices are open so claimants can speak to an advisor if needed.<\/p>\n
There will be no changes to payment dates for people in England or Wales receiving Child Benefit this week as New Year’s Day falls on a Thursday – the HMRC payment is only issued on Mondays and Tuesdays.<\/p>\n
