Earlier this month, videos showing Chase, 36 \u2014 who played Martin Qwerly in Ned\u2019s Declassified School Survival Guide \u2014 homeless on the streets of Riverside, California<\/a>, went viral on social media.<\/p>\n On Monday, influencer Jake Harris, who has been documenting his attempts to help Chase on Instagram, said the actor was in a \u201c36-hour medical hold,\u201d during which time they were able to get him \u201cclean, detoxed, physically clean.\u201d<\/p>\n Harris, the owner of Riverside\u2019s Shipwreck Barbershop, said he had been working with Chase\u2019s family to find a rehabilitation coach to work with the actor; however, \u201che was not, at the time, willing to accept help from the rehabilitation coach, although he was very receptive toward the information.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cSo, we were able to call another crisis team,\u201d Harris added in his video. \u201cThey came out and evaluated him. Since he was of sound mind, cleaned up and not in immediate danger, they weren’t able to take him.\u201d<\/p>\n In his own update shared Monday, Weiss \u2014 who has been open about his own journey to sobriety \u2014 said they were \u201chaving a really hard time\u201d getting Chase the help he needs.<\/p>\n \u201cTylor has to want to go to treatment,\u201d he said. \u201cAll the resources are available to him, and it\u2019s very frustrating because there is no system in place to help people like this, and our only option now is to what? Watch him wither away on the street?\u201d<\/p>\n Weiss added that fans tracking down Chase on the street to ask for a selfie and give him money were \u201cworking against us.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cPlease… refrain from doing that. It\u2019s not helpful,\u201d he urged. <\/p>\n According to TMZ<\/a>, the Riverside police said that they are familiar with Chase and interact with him at least once a week, offering him mental health services, substance abuse treatment, and temporary housing, which he continually declines.<\/p>\n Ned\u2019s Declassified star Devon Werkheiser<\/a> has also spoken out about his co-star\u2019s situation, telling TMZ that \u201cTylor was a sensitive, sweet, and kind kid. It is heartbreaking to see him this way.\u201d<\/p>\n Werkheiser, who led the classic teen sitcom from 2004 to 2007, expressed his hope that people would stop filming and uploading videos of Chase online for views.<\/p>\n \u201cMy only hope is that from this exposure, someone with real understanding and resources can step in, get Tylor into treatment, and help him get back on track. We all want a happy ending,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Originally from Arizona, Chase moved on from Ned\u2019s Declassified to brief roles in Everybody Hates Chris and the James Franco indie film Good Time Max (2007). His most recent credit was voicing Hank Newbern in the 2011 video game L.A.
