Mark Feehily<\/a> \u2014 one of the lead singers in Westlife<\/a> \u2014 has addressed his health after he experienced sepsis<\/a>.<\/p>\n The 45-year-old vocalist told fans he feels well enough to start his career comeback, having spent months in intensive care following the sepsis battle<\/a>. Mark quit Westlife in 2024 amid the health scare, announcing he wasn’t going to join Shane Filan, Kian Egan, Nicky Byrne on their 25th anniversary tour<\/a>.<\/p>\n But now he is making a comeback, as he is primed to present a programme three times each week on RTE Radio 1 in Ireland. His shows will air on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays on the network, the most-listened-to radio station in the country.<\/p>\n Mark, himself from Silgo, Ireland, posted on Instagram<\/a>: “My body and my mind need time. However, thankfully, sitting in a chair to do a radio show is a completely different physical and mental demand to doing a massive world<\/a> tour and I feel very lucky to be able to do this new @rteradio1 show.<\/p>\n “It\u2019s not quite a stadium show but it\u2019s a HUGE deal and achievement for me! The lengthy message continued: “A little message from me to you from the heart. It\u2019s been so long, sorry about the lack of posting\u2026 I\u2019ve missed ya!… It\u2019s been quite difficult to watch my bands big World Tour launch knowing I won\u2019t be able to be there with you all to join the party.<\/p>\n \u201cHowever, it\u2019s been really amazing to see our band still flying so high, and the incredible global support that\u2019s still there for us. YOUR support!”<\/p>\n Westlife’s 25th anniversary is commenced to start in September 2026 in Aberdeen, and will run until the end of November. It will see the band entertain crowds abroad too, with gigs scheduled in Belgium, Holland, Norway and Denmark among other countries.<\/p>\n Mark won’t be with the lads, though, as he continues to recover from illness. The musician had routine surgery when he was diagnosed with sepsis in 2020, but suffered pneumonia in the wake of the bout. Mark has since undergone four major surgeries to address complications for his initial illness.<\/p>\n There are several symptoms of sepsis, including severe difficulty breathing, skin turning very pale and fatigue.
