A close friend of Rob Reiner<\/a> and his wife Michele has shared the Christmas<\/a> card she received from them containing a heartfelt message, written just days before their deaths<\/a>.<\/p>\n Hollywood descended into grief<\/a> earlier this month after the When Harry Met Sally director<\/a>, 78, and his photographer partner, 70, were found dead at their home<\/a> in Los Angeles<\/a>.<\/p>\n As more harrowing details came to light, the couple\u2019s causes of death<\/a> were revealed to be \u2018multiple sharp force injuries\u2019 in a \u2018homicide\u2019. Their son, Nick, was later charged with two counts of first-degree murder.<\/p>\n Tributes proceeded to flood social media<\/a> and the press from the industry\u2019s biggest stars and those who knew the Reiners, with the latest coming from Neda Soderqvist, who worked as a trainer for Michele.<\/p>\n Taking to Instagram<\/a>, she shared a photo of the handwritten card she was sent in the mail, which arrived on Monday.<\/p>\n It read: \u2018Dear Neda \u2013 What can I say after all these years. We love each other, are mad at each other, and then just move on!<\/p>\n \t\t \u2018And it always works out!\u2019<\/p>\n \u2018I hope you have a great holiday with your family who adore you,\u2019 the card concluded. \u2018Love Michele and Rob\u2019.<\/p>\n Soderqvist also received a Christmas bonus, adding in her caption: \u2018Even from heaven, they are still making sure that everyone receives their bonuses and what really truly touches my soul and heart are the cards that Michele wrote me and one of the funny things about her was each time she sent me a bonus she would make me promise her that I would utilise it for myself and not give it away.\u2019<\/p>\n She vowed to \u2018keep\u2019 $100 (\u00a374.44) of the bonus and donate the rest in Michele\u2019s honour to one of the \u2018most inspiring foundations that [she] knows [Michele] loves.\u2019<\/p>\n \u2018Thank you for being my best friend ride or die,\u2019 Soderqvist added. <\/p>\n \u2018Someone who taught me self-worth self-love and I will keep your legacy going forever and I\u2019ll give you the oath that I\u2019ll be here for your children.\u2019<\/p>\n \t\t Following the devastating news of the Reiners\u2019 deaths, Soderqvist had penned a tribute in which she said she and Michele \u2018were inseparable five days a week for 15 years\u2019.<\/p>\n She explained that their relationship was, therefore, stronger than just trainer-student, but they were \u2018family\u2019.<\/p>\n \u2018Their love and support for my family have been unwavering, and I\u2019m forever grateful,\u2019 she wrote. \u2018Michele\u2019s heart overflowed with love, kindness, and compassion. I\u2019ll share more about her later, but her impact on my life is profound.\u2019<\/p>\n Soderqvist went on to request privacy for the Reiner family, especially for adult daughter Romy, for whom she is a godmother. Romy discovered her parents\u2019 bodies.<\/p>\n \u2018Rob, your dancing days will live on through me, and I\u2019ll cherish our conversations forever,\u2019 she wrote, expressing how \u2018heartbroken\u2019 she is.<\/p>\n In a later interview with People<\/a>, Soderqvist praised the couple\u2019s 36-year marriage<\/a>: \u2018They were exactly as if they had just met. Every time they left my studio, they held hands.\u2019<\/p>\n \t\t \t\t Youngest Reiner son Nick is currently being held without bail, having been picked up by police several hours after his parents\u2019 bodies were found.<\/p>\n Nick, 32, has a history of addiction struggles and was reportedly being treated for schizophrenia, a serious mental health<\/a> condition that affects how people think, feel, and behave. It can also cause hallucinations and delusions.<\/p>\n Legal experts have weighed in over recent weeks, suggesting that Nick might plead insanity in his case. However, the circumstances surrounding this could be \u2018difficult\u2019. <\/p>\n First, though, he must be medically cleared<\/a> by prison officials to enter his plea.<\/p>\n Following his arrest, Nick was placed on suicide watch in solitary confinement. If convicted, his charges carry a maximum sentence of life in prison without parole. He could also face the death penalty.<\/p>\n Nick\u2019s arraignment has been scheduled for January 7, 2026.<\/p>\n \t\t \t\t Meanwhile, a\u00a0memorial service honouring Rob and Michele\u00a0is due to take place, with his family set to share information \u2018at a later date\u2019.<\/p>\n A spokesperson for children Jake, 34, and Romy, 27<\/a>, added on December 22: \u2018Jake and Romy Reiner remain grateful for the outpouring of love and support they have received.\u2019<\/p>\n Their previous statement requested that the public remain respectful as they grieve.<\/p>\n \u2018Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day,\u2019 they shared on December 17.<\/p>\n \u2018The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience.
