Super League-linked Corey Allan has made the decision to hang up his boots at the age of 27.<\/p>\n

Allan left St George Illawarra Dragons at the end of the 2025 season and according to reports down under, he had been weighing up a potential move to Super League for 2026. A Zero Tackle report at the time claimed the only thing standing between Allan and Super League was another NRL<\/a> opportunity.<\/p>\n

But, despite his age, Allan has decided to call it a day and step away from his career as a professional rugby league player. The outside back made 74 appearances in the NRL over the course of his career and 12 of those came last season with the Dragons.<\/p>\n

He scored five tries in the Red Vee, too, but he couldn\u2019t do enough to earn himself a new deal. His best form came as a South Sydney Rabbitohs player, with the full-back earning himself a call up to represent Queensland in the State of Origin in November 2020.<\/p>\n

Since then, though, he has struggled to settle with time being spent at Canterbury Bulldogs, Sydney Roosters and the Dragons over the last five years.<\/p>\n

And, in a message posted on social media this morning, Allan confirmed his decision to turn down the chance to move to Super League and bring the curtain down on his career.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs the year is about to end, what better time to announce that I\u2019ve decided to finish playing professionally, the opportunity to head overseas was alluring but I didn\u2019t want to do anything I wasn\u2019t 100% in for, so I\u2019m content with my decision,\u201d he wrote on Instagram.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m so grateful to have been able to live out my dream and till this day I have nothing but gratitude and happiness when I look back at what was.\u201d<\/p>\n

Addressing the teams he played for, Allan added: \u201cI can\u2019t thank you enough whether I came through your system or played for your club, the values and lessons I\u2019ve received from all of you has shaped me into who I am today.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t wait to see what life has in store for me.\u201d<\/p>\n
