Carl Froch has settled his dispute with Andre Ward having held a grudge with the American following their famous 2011 clash.<\/p>\n

Froch and Ward fought 14 years ago and have been embroiled in a verbal back-and-forth ever since.<\/p>\n

‘The Cobra’ was outclassed by his American nemesis when they laced up the gloves for the Super Six tournament final in Atlantic City.<\/p>\n

Ward, the reigning WBA super middleweight title champion, was simply too quick for Froch and claimed his WBC belt in a dazzling performance.<\/p>\n

Froch made it very clear that he disagreed with the result at the time, and that subsequently translated into total contempt for Ward.<\/p>\n

Over a lengthy period since that famous night, they have kept their rivalry alive by continuing to taunt each other online.<\/a><\/p>\n

But now, the pair have reunited and seem to be ready to bury the hatchet.<\/p>\n

The former five-time world champion joined Froch on his YouTube channel, Froch on Fighting<\/a>, where the Briton finally waved the white flag.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cTime for me to chuck a quick apology in, I\u2019ve got to be true to myself.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs I\u2019ve got a bit older, I\u2019m 48 years old, and as you get older, you get a bit wiser.<\/p>\n

“My best friend put a bible into my hands a couple of years ago, and I\u2019ve started to become a little bit more mature and a little more understanding and civil as well. <\/p>\n

“Even though my channel\u2019s a bit out there and I like to get my point across, and the delivery\u2019s a bit harsh, as Eddie Hearn<\/a> said to me yesterday…<\/p>\n

“You beat me fair and square in a fight. It wasn\u2019t close. Two of the judges had it 115-113. Were they drunk? <\/p>\n

“And that made it worse for me because one round, I could have got a draw. I\u2019d rather it was 120-108!<\/p>\n

“I’m man enough to admit I got beat by the better man, absolute legend, Hall of Famer.<\/p>\n

“So, apologies. I’m sorry for chatting s***.”<\/p>\n

Ward was then more than happy to let bygones be bygones, and gave Froch credit for giving him a competitive evening in the ring.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cIt wasn\u2019t easy, no matter how it looked.<\/p>\n

“I never felt, \u2018I\u2019ve got this in the bag.\u2019 So for all 12 rounds, I knew I had to keep stepping on the gas.\u201d<\/p>\n

Froch also took the opportunity to thank Ward’s performance for challenging him to be sharper in the final five fights of his career.<\/p>\n

While the verbal jabs were mainly made by Froch, Ward also expressed disdain for his former foe <\/a>over the years.<\/p>\n
