Disguised head-to-toe as a gloriously oversized Christmas treat known as Figgy Pudding, Scott took to the stage and delivered a performance that had both the audience and judging panel scrambling for clues.<\/p>\n
While some dared whisper that the mystery singer might be Scott Mills, even those closest to him failed to spot the truth, including his own mum and dad.<\/p>\n
In a video shared on his Facebook<\/a> page, the Mills family were gathered together watching the show together. Scott sat quietly with his husband, Sam Vaughan – who hails from Bridgend<\/a> – and his parents, Sandra and Pete, as they tuned in to The Masked Singer, blissfully unaware that the Christmas pudding on screen was their son.<\/p>\n As Figgy Pudding launched into his first performance, a rendition of Johnny Mathis’ When a Child Is Born, Sandra seemed impressed. “This one can sing,” she said. “Sounds like Michael Ball, doesn’t it?”<\/p>\n “Who is it, Michael Ball?” Sam asked, playing along, as Sandra continued to ponder whether the West End star could really be hiding under the pudding. Scott, meanwhile, stayed suspiciously quiet.<\/p>\n “Not always singers, are they?” Sandra said – prompting Scott to finally chip in, mildly sheepish: “They’re rarely singers!”<\/p>\n The guessing game continued, right on cue with the show’s format, as the judges offered their theories. Maya Jama confidently threw Scott’s name into the mix, a suggestion that sent his parents into fits of laughter.<\/p>\n “He can’t sing like that!” Sandra said, dismissing the idea entirely.<\/p>\n But festive goodwill only stretches so far. When Figgy Pudding returned for a second performance, this time with Elton John’s Step Into Christmas, opinions took a sharp turn.<\/p>\n
