{"id":346235,"date":"2026-01-01T10:58:12","date_gmt":"2026-01-01T10:58:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/346235\/"},"modified":"2026-01-01T10:58:12","modified_gmt":"2026-01-01T10:58:12","slug":"muay-thai-star-mikey-broadley-invited-to-bangkok-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/346235\/","title":{"rendered":"Muay Thai star Mikey Broadley invited to Bangkok competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  Muay Thai prodigy Mikey Broadley, 15, will be a guest competitor in the WBC (World Boxing Council) World Championships in Bangkok on June 25 &#8211; an honour reserved for a select group of junior fighters.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Top teen Mikey is ranked number one in the world and Europe across several different organisations and secured 14 titles in 2025.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The invitation to the 2026 World Championships follows Mikey\u2019s excellent performance in an exclusive tournament in Bangkok earlier this year.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   width=\"100%\"\/>Young fighter Mikey Broadley has had a busy 2025 and already has plans for 2026. (Image: Michael Broadley)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  While Mikey was controversially defeated in the final, he impressed boxing chiefs with his skills, and they will welcome him as their guest in the summer.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  During the 2025 Bangkok event, the young fighter met some of the biggest names in combat sports, including Oleksandr Usyk, Terence Crawford, Conor Benn, and past greats Prince Naseem Hamed\u00a0and Amir Khan.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  He said his \u2018favourite success\u2019 of 2025 was winning at the WMO (World Muay Thai Organisation) Championships in Seville, where he defeated a five-time IFMA (International Federation of Muay Thai Associations) champion\u00a0to win gold.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Mikey also captured the 57kg WKA (World Kickboxing Association) K-1 Glory Rules World Title\u00a0and the WKA K-1 World Title, defeating opponents from England and New Zealand\u00a0at the championships held in Sheffield.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  He has also defeated multiple IFMA champions and is considering a future move into IFMA competition, the recognised pathway to Olympic selection.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   width=\"100%\"\/>Mikey Broadley (Image: Michael Broadley)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Mikey started fighting in August 2024 and spent the whole of 2025 travelling all over the world.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The year ahead is set to be another busy one for the teenager, as he is already scheduled to appear at the World Muay Thai Organisation (WMO) World Championships, before defending his WMO European 57kg title in Rome\u00a0later in the year.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Reflecting on his progress, Mikey said: \u201cThere are no easy fights anymore &#8211; everyone is world class.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cI\u2019ve been lucky to meet champions from all over the world.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Mikey has thanked Agoge <a href=\"https:\/\/www.glasgowtimes.co.uk\/local-news\/paisley-news\/?ref=au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Paisley<\/a>, James McDonald, Stephen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irvinetimes.com\/local-news\/irvine-news\/?ref=au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Irvine<\/a>, Jamie Gillies, Flyn Shanks, Liam McKendry, and his personal trainer Jordan Waldron for their support and dedication.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The young fighter continues to proudly represent his club and community on the world stage.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Mikey\u2019s mum Ashley added: \u201cWe are all so proud of Mikey.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cHe is so disciplined and trains rigorously, and he deserves all his success.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cHe has taken world, European, and domestic titles across multiple organisations in not only Muay Thai but K-1 and Glory Rules too.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cHe is excelling and living his dream.
