\u201cZootopia 2<\/a>\u201d is going down in the Disney record books.<\/p>\n

The animated sequel is now Walt Disney Animation\u2019s highest-grossing movie in history with $1.46 billion at the global box office. It beat the previous record holder, \u201cFrozen 2<\/a>,\u201d which made $1.45 billion in 2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cZootopia 2<\/a>\u201d has made $333 million domestically and a whopping $1.13 billion overseas. Over the Christmas holiday weekend, it surged at the box office in its fifth week of release, adding $87.9 million to its already impressive tally.<\/p>\n

The film hit the coveted $1 billion milestone after just 17 days of release, and it was the fastest PG-rated movie in history to do so. It\u2019s been a particularly huge success in China, where many Hollywood movies have floundered in recent years. At just the Chinese box office, \u201cZootopia 2<\/a>\u201d has already zoomed past $500 million, the highest total for a U.S. movie by far.
