Shame not to get another clean sheet, but deserves praise for his work on the ball. 6

Darnell Furlong notched an assist for Town’s second goal (Image: Ross Halls)

 Darnell Furlong

Bagged his third assist of the season by setting up Akpom for Town’s second. Good link-up play on the right. Handled himself defensively. 7

 Dara O’Shea

Not as sharp on the ball in this one but dealt well with Oxford’s direct play. Perhaps needed to be more aware to Lankshear’s movement for his goal. 6

 Cedric Kipre

Spun by Filip Krastev for the equaliser but recovered well. Extremely composed on the ball. 6

 Leif Davis

Delivered some good crosses but wasn’t a consistent threat down the left. Caught high up the pitch for Oxford’s goal, but it’s hard to blame him given his role. 6

 Azor Matusiwa

Protected the back line incredibly well up until the latter stages, when he tired and became a bit sloppy. Still makes his defensive play really effortless at times, and feels like he’s not far from his first Town goal. 7

 Jens Cajuste

Some lovely, slick play, mixed with big tackles and aggression in the right moments – such as his challenge and assist for the opener. However, he has to take a portion of the blame for Oxford’s goal, where he was shrugged aside too easily. 6

 Sindre Walle Egeli

Shot heavy in the early stages without doing much to really threaten. Linked up well with Furlong on the right, playing a part in the second goal. 6

 Marcelino Nunez

No goal contribution for him in this game but the creative heartbeat of the team. One or two decisions in the final third which were a bit off, but largely knitted things together. Saw a superb free-kick tipped away before coming off. 8 (Man of the Match)

Jaden Philogene and Chuba Akpom both bagged goals against the U’s (Image: Ross Halls)

 Jaden Philogene

Found himself on the end of numerous attacking moves, but often lacked the finishing touch for a goal. He did get one, however, his ninth of the campaign, all at Portman Road, with fabulous footwork before his curling strike his the net. Continues to improve off the ball. 8

 Chuba Akpom

Bagged his first Portman Road goal, which he really needed. One of the easier finishes he’ll have, but he had to be in the right place at the right time. Made himself a handful for Oxford’s centre-backs. 7

 Substitute: Jack Clarke (68′)

Started off in the no.10 role when he came on. Drifted into space well as a left winger, with no space to get a shot off. 6

 Substitute: Wes Burns (68′)

Just two touches in around 25 minutes on the pitch. Great to see him back at Portman Road, but he had a limited impact in this game. 6

 Substitute: Jack Taylor (76′)

A couple of frustrating moments in possession and when pressing, but largely slotted in as a like-for-like Cajuste replacement. 6

 Substitute: Ivan Azon (76′)

Chased hard but had nothing to work with at the end. 6

 Substitute: Ashley Young (84′)

Played in midfield and helped the team look more resilient towards the end. 6

Christian Walton Helpless against Will Lankshear’s equaliser but untested other than that, having made no saves in the…

[33
218,101,56,54,55
0":"post-346978","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-football","8":"tag-football","9":"tag-sports","10":"tag-uk","11":"tag-united-kingdom","12":"tag-unitedkingdom
["GET
