Hull FC have confirmed the appointment of a former RFL chief as part of club chief executive Richie Myler\u2019s big New Year\u2019s update.<\/p>\n

In a message wishing Black and Whites fans a Happy New Year, Myler has also confirmed some big news from the MKM Stadium across a number of different sectors.<\/p>\n

Membership, shirt sales and work in the community has been addressed, as well as personnel appointments with the most notable of those being confirmation that former RFL CEO Tony Sutton<\/a> has returned to the club.<\/p>\n

Sutton had a 13-year spell at Hull FC between 2001 and 2014 but he not returns in the role of chief operating officer, a role that will have him \u201coversee all financial, operational and compliance matters across the club and the Hull FC Community Foundation to ensure our off-field operations run as smoothly as possible\u201d.<\/p>\n

He and Sian Jones, who has joined from Leeds Rhinos and been appointed as director of operations, will add plenty to the Black and Whites off the field.<\/p>\n

Hull FC building on impressive 2025<\/p>\n

Whilst Sutton and Jones will oversee off-field operations, it was the on-field improvement in 2025 that has led to such a good feeling around the west part of Hull with John Cartwright\u2019s side narrowly missing the play-offs in his first season in charge.<\/p>\n

That was in stark contrast to the abysmal 2024 season when Hull FC won just three games all season and such an improvement has led to fans piling back in to show their support.<\/p>\n

Myler\u2019s statement confirmed that over 9,000 members have signed up, the club\u2019s highest for over five years and an increase of over 1,500 members from last year. Moreover, shirt sales have gone well with over 6,000 sold in the past five weeks.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead to the 2026 campaign, Myler has called on the side to be more resilient, something he\u2019s confident they can be.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cThe players have without doubt restored pride in the Hull FC shirt 2025, but in 2026 we need to take the next step to becoming more resilient and clinical in key moments. I am confident that together as a club, this year will be another significant and exciting step forward, together.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Black and Whites will open their season up at home to new boys Bradford Bulls, having played Huddersfield Giants and Wigan Warriors in their pre-season.<\/p>\n
