Shedites will air on BBC One tonight and the show is set in and around the men\u2019s shed in a village in Ireland. The one-off comedy features a star-studded list of familiar faces you’ve most likely seen before as they take on completely different characters in this hilarious half-hour programme created by Paddy Houlihan.<\/p>\n
According to the BBC<\/a>, “Shedites” is about a place where men can make themselves useful by building and repairing things. But along the way they find company through unlikely friendships, a sense of purpose and a mug of strong tea.<\/p>\n Creator Paddy Houlihan <\/a>says: \u201cIt\u2019s a privilege to see actors I\u2019ve admired for years bring real depth to characters that began in my imagination.<\/p>\n “Alongside a crew who\u2019ve poured skill and graft into every frame, they\u2019ve taken what was on the page and lifted it to the screen with humour, honesty, and heart. Watching Shedites come to life has been a surreal experience.\u201d<\/p>\n Shedites cast<\/p>\n Jimmy- Brendan O\u2019Carroll<\/a> (Agnes Brown in Mrs Brown\u2019s Boys)<\/p>\n Harry- Phil Davis (Vic Ross in Trying)<\/p>\n Gavin- Simon Delaney (Tom Crews in Mrs. Brown’s Boys D’Movie, Bert Ammerman in Lockerbie)<\/p>\n Cheesy- Danny O\u2019Carroll (Buster Brady in Mrs Brown\u2019s Boys)<\/p>\n Paul- Shane Casey (Billy Murphy in The Young Offenders)<\/p>\n Paddy the Liar- Paddy Houlihan (Dermot Brown in Mrs Brown\u2019s Boys)<\/p>\n Councillor Orla- Deirdre O\u2019Kane (Debra Moone in Moone Boy)<\/p>\n Shedites is based around a group of men in a small Irish village<\/a>. In the half-hour episode, the group set out to build a new bike from spare parts to win a local race, leading to plenty of shenanigans, bruised pride and a fair dose of stubbornness.<\/a><\/p>\n Speaking about the show, Brendan O\u2019Carroll said: \u201cIt\u2019s inspiring and exciting to be filming Shedites. I saw this as a germ of an idea in Paddy\u2019s head. To see it come to fruition is everything his talent deserves.\u201d<\/p>\n Jon Petrie, BBC Director of Comedy also said: “Paddy has a real feel for character-led humour that properly lands.
