This is the moment a furious driver hurled a \u00a350 penalty notice onto the ground in a fit of rage – and was then hit with a \u00a3250 fine for littering.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The woman had been caught unloading her vehicle in a no-loading zone in Falmouth, Cornwall, when a Civil Enforcement Officer issued her with a \u00a350 fine.<\/p>\n

But instead of accepting the ticket, she tore it from her windscreen and threw it to the pavement \u2013 an act that landed her in even more trouble.<\/p>\n

Footage from the officer’s body-worn camera shows the driver launching the fine to the floor before hurling verbal abuse at the official.<\/p>\n

She was then slapped with a \u00a3250 fixed penalty notice for littering \u2013 reduced to \u00a3150 for early payment \u2013 and issued a second copy of the original parking ticket.<\/p>\n

Two more people have also been fined for littering in separate incidents \u2013 both caught on camera.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The CCTV footage shows a man throwing an egg custard carton from his vehicle on a country lane in the St Austell area.<\/p>\n

A woman was also caught on CCTV dropping a drinks bottle as she climbed into the passenger seat of a vehicle in Falmouth.<\/p>\n

In both incidents the footage was shared with the Council’s Community Protection Enforcement team who made further enquires and were later able to identify both individuals, who admitted the offences.<\/p>\n

They each received a \u00a3250 Fixed Penalty Notice for littering with an early repayment option of \u00a3150, if paid with 14 days.<\/p>\n

Both individuals paid \u00a3150 within the 14 day period.<\/p>\n

Councillor Thalia Marrington, Portfolio Holder for Community Safety and Public Health at Cornwall Council, said: ‘Cornwall is beautiful, and we want to keep it that way.<\/p>\n

‘There is no excuse for dropping litter and when we have evidence of these offences, we will always try to trace those responsible.<\/p>\n

‘As well as public CCTV cameras, more and more people now have doorbell and home security cameras that capture this type of offence.<\/p>\n

‘I urge anyone with such footage to report it to us so we can investigate.’<\/p>\n
