Killie chiefs are on the hunt for a new boss after sacking Stuart Kettlewell"NeilNeil McCann

Neil McCann could be a shock contender for the Kilmarnock job.

The former Dundee boss is one of the names being considered by the Rugby Park board.

The Killie hierarchy are pushing ahead with final shortlist interviews over this weekend and at the start of next week.

McCann had a spell in charge of Dundee and was last as an interim at Inverness Caledonian Thistle back in 2021.

Since then he has been working as a television and radio pundit.

Record Sport broke the story earlier this week that they are set for talks with ex-Hearts and Dundee United boss Robbie Neilson.

Neilson is currently No. 2 to Lee Johnson at SK Lommel.

Aberdeen first-team coach Peter Leven is another who has strong admirers at his former club.

It remains to be seen if Leven would leave the Dons at this stage.

Leven has had spells at Killie as a player and an assistant manager.

Steve Bruce has also been linked with the job but that has been pushed by an agent.

Kilmarnock have been looking for a boss since they sacked Stuart Kettlewell last month.

Kris Doolan has been put in caretaker charge.

He is expected to head up their under-19 team when a new manager is appointed.

Killie chiefs are on the hunt for a new boss after sacking Stuart KettlewellNeil McCann Neil McCann could…

[33
218,54403,86662,2714,54869,8058,11728,101,56,54,55
post-349056","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-football","tag-football","tag-kilmarnock-fc","tag-neil-mccann","tag-rangers-fc","tag-robbie-neilson","tag-scottish-premiership","tag-scottish-professional-football-league","tag-sports","tag-uk","tag-united-kingdom","tag-unitedkingdom
["GET
