David Moyes may be regretting letting Dominic Calvert-Lewin leave the club following his fine form for Leeds.<\/p>\n

That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to\u00a0Football Insider, who believes the striker is what Moyes needs right now.<\/p>\n

Everton let Calvert-Lewin leave for free<\/a> upon the expiry of his contract, and Leeds<\/a> snapped up the 28-year-old later in the summer transfer window.<\/p>\n

Calvert-Lewin scored in six consecutive Premier League games<\/a> recently, taking his tally up to eight goals for Leeds in 18 appearances.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Everton had one \u2018big concern\u2019 over Dominic Calvert-Lewin<\/p>\n

Everton\u2019s former chief\u00a0Keith Wyness<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs\u00a0\u2013 thinks injuries were the only thing holding Calvert-Lewin back on Merseyside.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the new edition of\u00a0Football Insider\u2018s Inside Track podcast<\/a>, Wyness believes the striker scored some important goals at the club.<\/p>\n

He told\u00a0Football Insider\u2018s Inside Track podcast: \u201cI\u2019ve\u00a0always been a Dominic fan. He scored some\u00a0very important\u00a0goals for Everton in the relegation\u00a0years,\u00a0I suppose is what\u00a0we\u2019d\u00a0call them under Sean Dyche. <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd look, he was always\u00a0fairly consistent\u00a0apart from the injuries,\u00a0which is always\u00a0the\u00a0big concern. I was so sorry it\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0work out for him at Everton in terms of\u00a0negotiations, because\u00a0I think he would have been what\u00a0we\u2019d\u00a0have needed\u00a0right now at Everton. <\/p>\n

\u201cBut he obviously had a view. And I think that\u00a0Everton wanted to say, well, look, we might give you more of a pay-per-play related bonus situation rather than a straightforward higher salary, which\u00a0I think he\u00a0wanted.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Everton<\/a> are targeting a new striker to boost their attack amid poor returns from Beto and Thierno Barry up-front.<\/p>\n

Barry\u2019s strike in Everton\u2019s 2-0 win at Nottingham Forest<\/a> was just his second for the club, whilst Beto only has one Premier League goal this season.<\/p>\n
