Sir Elton John<\/a> has shared a photo of his and David Furnish<\/a>\u2019s two sons for the first time on social media<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The British music legend, 78, has been in a relationship with Canadian <\/a>filmmaker David, 63, since 1993<\/a>, with the couple amongst the first to form a civil partnership in the United Kingdom before marrying in 2014.<\/p>\n

They then went on to welcome two sons from the same surrogat<\/a>e \u2013 Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John in 2010, and Elijah Joseph Daniel Furnish-John in 2013.<\/p>\n

Since their births, the boys have featured on Sir Elton and David\u2019s social media accounts, but only in photos with their backs to the camera or with their faces obscured.<\/p>\n

However, this week Sir Elton shared a full photo his sons, sharing a snap of them celebrating New Year\u2019s Eve.<\/p>\n

Posting three photos on Instagram<\/a>, the musician captioned the post: \u2018Thank you @donatella_versace and @edward_enninful for hosting us for a fabulous New Years Eve party! A perfect way to see in 2026 \ud83d\ude80\u2728.\u2019<\/p>\n

The Italian fashion designer hosted a party in London<\/a> on Wednesday night alongside Edward Enninful, the former editor-in-chief of British Vogue.<\/p>\n

Sir Elton\u2019s first photo showed him sitting at a table with Donatella, while the next had him laughing with his husband and a friend. The final showed the couple posing with Donatella and their two sons \u2013 now aged 14 and 12.<\/p>\n

The two boys were dressed up too \u2013 wearing suits for the festivities.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the post, Donatella wrote: \u2018I love you so so much Elton! No better way to start 2026.\u2019<\/p>\n

Meanwhile David also shared the same family photo on his respective Instagram alongside a message from their family that read: \u2018All the F-J\u2019s want to wish everyone a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!\u2019<\/p>\n

Fans of the singer commented on the post, with many exclaiming how the boys looked \u2018so grown up\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u2018Wow, Elton and David\u2019s boys are getting big! Happy New Year to the 4 of you,\u2019 Scott added.<\/p>\n

Although Sir Elton and David have largely kept their sons out of the public eye, the performer offered a rare insight into his family life and how he decided to retire from touring two years ago due to wanting to spend more time with them.<\/p>\n

\u2018For me personally, I\u2019ve had an amazing life, great career,\u2019 he told Andy Cohen in 2024.<\/p>\n

\u2018Incredible achievements, music, blah, blah, blah, but I would say that our sons, and David, are the most important things to me.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018That\u2019s why I came off the road, to be able to spend the latter part of my life being there for them.\u2019<\/p>\n

Meanwhile David told Entertainment Tonight that same year that they both didn\u2019t want to miss any of their sons\u2019 milestone moments.<\/p>\n

\u2018We\u2019ve got our sons. They\u2019re getting into their teenage years now. We don\u2019t want to miss anything. We want to be present for that. It\u2019s sort of a key decade in a child\u2019s life,\u2019 he explained.<\/p>\n

Speaking about his husband\u2019s career, he added: \u2018He\u2019s been doing it for like 60 years. So, it\u2019s nice to have that time to spend at home with family.\u2019<\/p>\n

Last year, in March, the family all posed for photographs on a red carpet while attending Sir Elton\u2019s 2025 Oscars<\/a> viewing party, marking a rare appearance for them all together.<\/p>\n

When welcoming their first son in 2010, the couple shared a statement that read: \u2018We are overwhelmed with happiness and joy at this very special moment. Zachary is healthy and doing really well, and we are very proud and happy parents.\u2019<\/p>\n

Following the birth of their second three years later, they told Hello! magazine: \u2018Both of us have longed to have children, but the reality that we now have two sons is almost unbelievable. The birth of our second son completes our family in a most precious and perfect way. It is difficult to fully express how we are feeling at this time; we are just overwhelmed with happiness and excitement.\u2019<\/p>\n

In the past Sir Elton has said his sons gave him a \u2018purpose\u2019<\/a>. In 2022 he then penned a letter to them in Time magazine, in which he wrote: \u2018Zachary and Elijah, you two are the greatest gifts I have ever been given. You have filled my heart with love and my life with purpose and meaning in ways I didn\u2019t think were possible. You are my proudest achievements, and I love you both so, so much.\u2019<\/p>\n

In the 2024 documentary Elton John: Never Too Late, he also spoke about how they are \u2018not interested in being in the limelight\u2019 too.<\/p>\n

A few years earlier Sir Elton \u2013 who is worth an estimated \u00a3320million \u2013 also told OK! Magazine he was raising his sons \u2018working\u2019 class<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u2018They come from a well-off background, which will afford its own advantages. I came from a very working-class background where I had to work for everything I got, and I want to instill those same values in them. But it\u2019s harder growing up in this world and David and I are very mindful of that.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018They\u2019re fantastic young boys, they have good hearts and compassionate, kind personalities,\u2019 he added.<\/p>\n
