Further details of the format of the selection has yet to be revealed but SWR has stated further details will be announced this month.<\/p>\n<p>SWR will be producing two supporting programs alongside the German national selection and the Eurovision Song Contest 2026. 70 Jahre ESC \u2013 Die Doku is a 90 minute long documentary that will air in May on Das Erste. It will look back at 70 years of Eurovision.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Inside ESC 2026 \u2013 Der Weg ins Finale will be released through the ARD Mediathek with 1 to 3 episodes, focusing on preparations for the 70th Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna.<\/p>\n<p>Abor &amp; Tynna represented Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 with the song \u201cBaller\u201d. The country has taken part in every contest since then, apart from in 1996, when they failed to make it through the qualifying round. To date Germany has won the contest twice. The first time was in 1982 when Nicole sang \u201cEin Bisschen Frieden\u201d in Harrogate, which later became a global hit. Germany didn\u2019t win again until 2010 when Lena sang \u201cSatellite\u201d in Oslo.
