The singer\u2019s trainer Allison Kimmel explained that Lorde doesn\u2019t have a set workout schedule. \u201cLorde\u2019s concert tour was a total whirlwind. We didn\u2019t always have the perfect schedule for training. If we had 30 minutes between things to squeeze in a workout or a stretch, we made it work,\u201d Kimmel told <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/fitness\/a37360907\/lorde-abs-good-morning-america\/\">Women\u2019s Health<\/a>. \u201cOther times, we had over an hour and could extend her warm-up or add some extra cardio sets.\u201ddf44d9eab23ea271ddde7545ae2c09ec<\/p>\n<p>Lorde recommends mixing up your routine and combining exercise methods. Her workout starts with a 15-minute jog or other cardio followed by an \u201cuptempo yoga-inspired\u201d warm-up. \u201cAfter that, we would get into our main sets which were comprised of traditional strength exercises, combined with barre and Pilates.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lorde also advocates getting fresh air. She told <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.com\/article\/lorde-cover-october-2021\">Vogue<\/a> that after spending the last few years in Auckland, she had come into herself, and it had to do with spending time outdoors. \u201cI was so serious and shy and tough. And I think that coming home, having a second record under the belt, I just felt like I could relax and play,\u201d she said. \u201cI don\u2019t know\u2014something started to happen, and it was all to do with spend\u00ading time outside.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lorde promotes self-love. \u201cWhen I said I felt young for the first time\u2014it meant feeling like I\u2019m confident enough to put my butt out there. I wouldn\u2019t have been able to do that as a teenager,\u201d she explains. \u201cWhen you\u2019re really famous as a young person, feelings get magnified. At that time, people were discussing my body on Twitter, and the natural response was to shrink away from it. Now I have a sense of my worth and my power, and my body is\u2014awesome, for one thing. But it\u2019s also not as central as my brain is to the whole operation. I don\u2019t think you could make me feel bad about myself now by saying something about my body, but that\u2019s the difference between 16 and 24.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lorde is also an advocate of stretching. \u201cI do lots of stretching, because when I perform my limbs fly all over the place,\u201d she said. \u201cThe boys laugh at me lunging across the room,\u201d Lorde told <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/culture\/2014\/jun\/21\/lorde-pre-and-post-gig-rituals\">The Guardian<\/a> about her pre-show ritual. \u201cI\u2019m a very physical performer.
