Sammy Braybrooke has joined League Two club Chesterfield on loan until the end of the season.<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old spent the first half of the season on loan at Newport County but left after his short-term loan deal ended on 31 December.<\/p>\n

After joining the Exiles on deadline day <\/a>the Leicester City midfielder impressed, starting every game for the Exiles registering two goals and two assists during his time in Wales.<\/p>\n

Newport boss Christian Fuchs will be disappointed the influential midfielder was not able to extend his stay and help in the relegation battle.<\/p>\n

Braybrooke previously told BBC Sport Wales he was keen to stay beyond December: “I’d love to stay. It’s a good environment to be in and all I really want to do is play games and enjoy my football, which is what I am doing.”<\/p>\n

A graduate from the Foxes academy \u2013 who made his senior debut for Leicester against Newport in the 2022-23 EFL Cup \u2013 Braybrooke featured in Premier League squads and Europa League squads under Brendan Rodgers before a knee ligament injury in February 2023 slowed his progress.<\/p>\n

He made nine appearances for Dundee in the Scottish Premier League before being recalled in January by then-manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, but did not make a Premier League appearance.<\/p>\n
