Moth gave an exceptional performance in the new series of the ITV competition<\/p>\n

The Masked Singer viewers are confident that Moth is a member of an iconic noughties girl group following their first performance. Since first airing in 2020, the ITV<\/a> series has become a hit in households across the UK as the panel of judges work with limited clues to figure out which star is hiding under the mask.<\/p>\n

Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan, Jonathan Ross and Maya Jama have reprised their roles on the panel, with the latter having replaced former judge Rita Ora in last year’s instalment. West End star and actress Samantha Barks won the 2025 series as Pufferfish, with the judges having guessed singers such as Perrie Edwards or Nicole Scherzinger.<\/p>\n

“I’ve had the best time, I really have had the best time,” Samantha said following her win. “Underneath the mask I’ve been smiling so hard it’s hurting my cheeks. It’s been amazing. Thank you all so much for your lovely comments.”<\/p>\n

It’s been mere days since the Christmas<\/a> special aired where This Morning presenter Dermot O’Leary won after his performance as Under the Mistletoe for the festive instalment.<\/p>\n

As this year’s contestants took to the stage, Moth offered up an emotional performance of Hero by Mariah Carey. Their rendition left Davina in tears as she apologised for getting emotional.<\/p>\n

Viewers were quick to react on social media after the performance, and on X (formerly known as Twitter<\/a>), some fans think Keisha Buchanan from Sugababes could be behind the mask. Sugababes were iconic in the early-mid 2000’s, with them producing multiple chart-toppers and platinum-selling records, becoming a huge success by 2006.<\/p>\n

They remained major figures in UK pop through numerous line-up changes, always maintaining high chart presence until they went on hiatus around 2011-2012.<\/p>\n

@mrjackmclaren theorised: “Clues: The Sugababes were formed thanks to Ron Tom, which ties back to Ronnie Corbett. Keisha was super young when they began, it’s like we\u2019ve watched her ‘grow from larva to moth’. Now that they\u2019ve reunited, she\u2019s back where she belongs ‘Returned to her rightful field’.”<\/p>\n

@ayesleft wrote: “Moth\u2019s got to be Keisha from Sugababes?” as @slinehan1 added: “I think Moth is Keisha Buchanan from the Sugababes, it REALLY sounds like her!!”.<\/p>\n

Another viewer, @michellepryde penned: “Is the four candles clue for Moth leaning towards the 4 lineups Keisha was in for Sugababes? Original, Heidi, Amelle & original again?
