\n\tDespite his current MCU<\/a> ties, Simu Liu<\/a> has some ideas for James Gunn<\/a>\u2018s DCU<\/a> after going toe-to-toe with Melissa Barrera<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Copenhagen Test<\/a> actor recently praised his co-star\u2019s onscreen combat skills, which he called \u201cWonder Woman<\/a>-esque\u201d and went so far as to shoutout the DC Studios<\/a> boss with the fantasy casting.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cShe really pushes herself,\u201d he told JoBlo<\/a> of Barrera. \u201cI don\u2019t know who might be listening to this interview, James Gunn<\/a> or anybody else out there. But I think she really pushes herself. There were a couple of moments during stunt training where I was like, \u2018That\u2019s Wonder Woman-esque.\u2019 I\u2019m just throwing it out there.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn July, Gunn gave an update that his team is \u201cnot casting WW<\/a>, nor even discussing it, until a script is finished,\u201d adding: \u201cIt\u2019s a priority but I wouldn\u2019t call that fast-tracked. Nothing is going to be shot unless we\u2019re as sure as we can be that the script is good.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile discussing their Peacock<\/a> spy thriller series with Deadline, Liu called his co-star \u201ca spectacular action star in the making,\u201d recalling their fight scene from the show.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAfter the whole season and after all the training that she had been through, Melissa was looking really sharp as a fighter, and so, she came to set and she was just ready to come to blows,\u201d said Liu. \u201cAnd it was really fun just to get to play that with her, and I\u2019m really proud of what we did too. I\u2019m really proud of her. She did a lot, most, if not all of her own stunts, and she\u2019s just the best.\u201d<\/p>\n
