Huey Morgan<\/a>\u00a0has joined\u00a0Virgin Radio, just weeks after announcing his departure from\u00a0BBC Radio 6 Music<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The former\u00a0Fun Lovin\u2019 Criminals<\/a>\u00a0frontman\u00a0presented his final show on 6 Music on December 27<\/a>,\u00a0after a\u00a017-year\u00a0stint on the network,\u00a0with the\u00a0BBC<\/a>\u00a0wishing him \u201cthe very best for the future\u201d as they announced he was leaving the\u00a0corporation.<\/p>\n

Now (January 4), Virgin Radio UK\u00a0have\u00a0confirmed that Morgan has joined their network and next Saturday (January 10), he will host the first of his new weekend\u00a0mornings\u00a0shows\u00a0on the station.<\/p>\n

The Huey Show\u00a0will broadcast live from 10am to 2pm every Saturday and Sunday, with Morgan joining a presenting line-up that also includes Chris Evans, Blur<\/a>\u2019s Alex James <\/a>and Scissor Sisters<\/a>\u2019\u00a0Ana\u00a0Matronic.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m so excited to be part of Virgin Radio at this very important moment in its history and will\u00a0endeavour\u00a0to bring all the best music to the listeners every weekend,\u201d Morgan said in a statement.<\/p>\n

New York-born musician Morgan rose to fame as the\u00a0frontman\u00a0of the\u00a0Fun Lovin\u2019\u00a0Criminals, who found\u00a0particular success\u00a0in the UK with three top 10 albums and eight top 40 singles, including \u2018Scooby Snacks\u2019 and \u2018Loco\u2019.<\/p>\n

Morgan stepped down from the group in late 2021<\/a>. In a statement at the time, the remaining members wished him \u201call the best with his\u00a0endeavours\u201d and said they would \u201ccontinue as\u00a0Fun Lovin\u2019\u00a0Criminals\u201d.<\/p>\n

However, in 2023,\u00a0he would criticise the current line-up on social media<\/a>, describing them as \u201cfrauds and cowards\u201d as well as being a \u201ctribute act\u201d.<\/p>\n

During his radio career,\u00a0Morgan caused controversy in 2012 by criticising fellow 6 Radio DJ Lauren Laverne<\/a>, calling himself \u201cthe people\u2019s champ\u201d and saying Laverne \u201cjust shows up and plays on Twitter\u201d.\u00a0He would later\u00a0apologise\u00a0to the presenter for his comments.<\/p>\n

This year, he published his autobiography,\u00a0The\u00a0Fun Lovin\u2019\u00a0Criminal, which charted the rise of the band, Morgan\u2019s struggles with mental health, and stories from \u201890s New York.
