If you\u2019ve been wondering since the dark days of the pandemic how the Garrity family\u2019s been getting along since surviving that Earth-smashing comet\u2014you\u2019re about to get all the answers. Greenland 2: Migration<\/a>, the sequel to<\/a> the surprise 2020 hit<\/a> starring Gerard Butler and Morena Baccarin, hits theaters this week, and a final trailer teases more of the chaos to come, plus some added reassurance that not all is lost.<\/p>\n

The planet is still in a state of violent flux, with comet fragments still raining down, along with earthquakes, tidal waves, superstorms, and other natural disasters\u2014plus human-made nightmares galore.<\/p>\n

The final Greenland 2 trailer also underlines the film\u2019s emotional component as the Garrity family searches for a new place to thrive in the post-apocalypse (those survival bunkers didn\u2019t really have \u201cforever home\u201d written all over them, after all). We hear Butler\u2019s character yearn \u201cto build a world led by kindness and compassion and understanding, one not just worth living in, but living for,\u201d and promise to take care of his wife and son \u201cuntil my last breath.\u201d<\/p>\n

Will they make it to safety for a second time? We\u2019ll find out when Greenland 2: Migration hits theaters January 9. It\u2019s directed by Ric Roman Waugh, who also directed Greenland; along with Butler and Baccarin, it stars\u00a0Roman Griffin Davis, Amber Rose Revah, Sophie Thompson, Trond Fausa Aurv\u00e5g, and William Abadie.<\/p>\n
