Pictures\/New Line<\/p>\n<p>Sir Ian McKellen and Elijah Wood look likely to reunite as Gandalf and Frodo in the upcoming \u201cThe Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum\u201d film.<\/p>\n<p>As previously reported, the Andy Serkis-directed film is set just prior to the events of \u201cThe Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring\u201d as Aragorn, Gandalf, and Sauron are all looking for Gollum.<\/p>\n<p>The story will unfold from Gollum\u2019s perspective with various characters from the original trilogy all returning \u2013 a big focus being on Aragorn as he seeks out the creature before he can share any sensitive information about the One Ring with anyone and have it get back to Sauron.<\/p>\n<p>Actor Viggo Mortensen isn\u2019t expected to reprise his role as Aragorn in the film, a younger actor is expected to take over the role.  A good chunk of the original trilogy cast seemingly appeared at an event where Sir Ian McKellen confirmed (via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DTJVZ9bDSEN\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Gollum Gram<\/a>) to the crowd: <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s going to start filming in May. It\u2019s going to be directed by Gollum, and it\u2019s all about Gollum. But I\u2019ll tell you two secrets about the casting.
