\n The healthcare hub\u2019s Emergency Department and Urgent Treatment Centre are extremely busy, with many patients waiting longer than normal to be seen.\n<\/p>\n
\n People are advised to only come to the hospital or call 999 if they have a serious or life-threatening condition. Everyone else should call NHS 111 for advice on the most appropriate healthcare support for their needs.\n<\/p>\n
\n Emergency department matron Natalie Lawrence explained: \u201cThis is having an impact on all services across the organisation.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cNearly all of our beds across the hospital are full, which means we cannot move patients out of the emergency department and onto a ward.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cThis also impacts on the ambulance service, who are unable to hand over patients quickly and get back on the road.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cThe pressures are causing long wait times whilst our staff treat those with more critical and life-threatening conditions.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cI understand that waiting a long time is very frustrating but we have to prioritise people in order of their clinical need.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cIf you are waiting to be seen, please treat our staff with the respect they deserve.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cThey are doing their best to treat everyone as quickly as possible.\n<\/p>\n
