A Scot murdered on The Traitors<\/a> has revealed who he thinks is this season\u2019s secret villain.<\/p>\n Motherwell-born <\/a>Ben, a 66-year-old Royal Navy veteran, said being selected for the cult show was the best experience of his life.<\/p>\n And he identified two fellow contestants he believes could be the show\u2019s Secret Traitor following his shock exit.<\/p>\n Viewers have been left in suspense after a new twist in this year\u2019s series<\/a> with a Secret Traitor selected by host Claudia Winkleman.<\/p>\n The identity of the mystery baddie has not been revealed – until tonight.<\/p>\n Speaking to the Daily Record ahead of tonight\u2019s show, when the Secret Traitor will be unmasked, Ben said: \u201cIt could be anybody but I\u2019ve got my suspicions. I was looking at Ross but I\u2019ve got this thing about Fiona as well.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen it got to Saturday night\u2019s show I was even starting to think \u2018am I the Secret Traitor?\u2019 because I was getting so confused.\u201d<\/p>\n The married dad-of-two was murdered during Saturday night\u2019s instalment of the hit BBC series – a move fans branded \u201cunforgivable\u201d.<\/p>\n Ben said while his fellow contestants made a mistake in picking him, he doesn\u2019t regret his strategy.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cTo think I\u2019ve been part of the biggest show in British TV, if not the world, and I\u2019ve just been pure lucky to be one of the 22 people that\u2019s been picked – I\u2019m so proud of that.<\/p>\n \u201cOut of four seasons now, 91 people have been though and I\u2019m part of that little group.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve no idea how it happened. I\u2019m retired so I was diddling about reading my paper every day and then suddenly I was pushing chariots up hills and rowing boats in rivers, thinking \u2018what\u2019s going on here?\u2019 But it was the best experience I\u2019ve ever had in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n The reality show has made its much-anticipated return for series four, with presenter Claudia Winkleman welcoming 22 new contestants divided into Faithfuls and Traitors, all vying for a substantial cash prize.<\/p>\n The first episode kicked off with a bang, with the host choosing her three baddies for the upcoming series, as Stephen, 32, Hugo, 51, and Rachel, 42, were chosen to begin scheming and murdering.<\/p>\n For this series, the producers have introduced a huge twist, unveiling that a Secret Traitor has been chosen whose identity remains a mystery for us, the viewers, the three normal traitors and the innocent faithful.<\/p>\n As players sat down for breakfast in Saturday\u2019s show, they quickly discovered that Ben had been chosen by the Traitors to leave Ardross Castle, leaving players devastated.<\/p>\n His departure followed the exit of Netty, the first Traitor to be murdered.<\/p>\n The first player banished at the round table was Judy.<\/p>\n Ben, who now lives in Hampshire, said he loved every minute of his return to Scotland for filming in Inverness.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cI was born and raised in Motherwell and left when I was a young boy and joined the forces in the senior service.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve been away for most of the time but was posted up to Scotland to Rosyth and Faslane, so I have lived up there.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve got family in the east coast and my brother still lives in Motherwell but I\u2019d never been up to Inverness before. When we got to the castle the scenery just blew me away.\u201d<\/p>\n Since leaving the show, Ben has been mulling over his theories over why he was murdered.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cI played the doddery old guy who didn\u2019t know what was going on, but I was paying attention to everything. I was gathering my information and thought \u2018right, I\u2019ll plant a few seeds\u2019 which was maybe my downfall. Or maybe I was too clever for the Traitors.<\/p>\n \u201cIf they had thought it through, and I think Stephen has now, they should have gone for someone else because they just brought everything onto themselves by murdering me.
