As actor-couple Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif revealed their son’s name, the choice of the name Vihaan sparked conversation among fans. Many noted its connection to Vicky\u2019s character Major Vihaan Shergill, in the 2019 film Uri: The Surgical Strike. While Vicky didn’t confirm whether the film influenced their decision, the coincidence has now been acknowledged by the film\u2019s director, Aditya Dhar.<\/p>\n

The Uri and now Dhurandhar director responded to the announcement on social media, saying, “@vicky @katrina huge congratulations!! Mere Vikkuuu, from bringing Major Vihaan Shergill to life on screen to now holding little Vihaan in your arms, life really has come full circle. All my love and blessings to the three of you. You\u2019re both going to be extraordinary parents (sic).”<\/p>\n

Katrina and Vicky announced the name of their son<\/a>, Vihaan Kaushal, by sharing the first image of their newborn on social media. In the accompanying note, the couple wrote, “Our ray of light \u2014 Vihaan Kaushal. Prayers are answered. Life is beautiful. Our world is changed in an instant. Gratitude beyond words (sic).”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Vihaan was born on November 7, 2025, and his arrival had been previously announced by the couple. They wrote, “Our bundle of joy has arrived. With immense gratitude, we welcome our baby boy. 7th November, 2025 (sic).” The couple married in a private ceremony in Rajasthan in December 2021.<\/p>\n

Uri: The Surgical Strike, released in 2019, is a military action film directed by Aditya Dhar. The film dramatises the 2016 Indian Army surgical strikes and features Vicky as Major Vihaan Shergill, with Yami Gautam in a lead role.<\/p>\n

Vicky received significant acclaim for his performance in Uri: The Surgical Strike, with particular praise for his physical transformation and depiction of the role. His performance contributed to the character\u2019s popularity and ongoing association with the actor.<\/p>\n
