The film centers on a new mother (Lawrence) who watches as both her loveless marriage and her reality as a whole unravel in rural Montana. Mubi released it in the U.S. in early November.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tOne of today\u2019s preeminent filmmakers, Ramsay previously wrote and directed the thriller You Were Never Really Here, starring Joaquin Phoenix, which premiered in competition at Cannes, where Ramsay won Best Screenplay and Phoenix received Best Actor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tEarlier works from the Scot include We Need To Talk About Kevin, starring Tilda Swinton, which premiered in competition at Cannes, as well as Ratcatcher and Morvern Callar, the latter of which won the BAFTA Award for Best Film Not in the English Language.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tLike You Were Never Really Here, Ramsay\u2019s short films Small Deaths, Gasman, and Swimmer received major prizes at Cannes.
