{"id":360504,"date":"2026-01-09T07:48:04","date_gmt":"2026-01-09T07:48:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/360504\/"},"modified":"2026-01-09T07:48:04","modified_gmt":"2026-01-09T07:48:04","slug":"bristol-bears-add-driven-daniels-to-squad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/360504\/","title":{"rendered":"Bristol Bears add &#8216;driven&#8217; Daniels to squad"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Experienced <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbypass.com\/teams\/canada-women\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Canada<\/a> sevens international Chloe Daniels has joined Premiership Women\u2019s Rugby club Bristol Bears.<\/p>\n<p>The back, who is capable of playing both fly-half and full-back in 15-a-side rugby, has joined the West Country club with immediate effect.<\/p>\n<p>She is the second midseason arrival from Canada in as many months at Shaftesbury Park after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbypass.com\/players\/pamphinette-buisa\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Pamphinette Buisa<\/a> joined the club in December.<\/p>\n<p>Daniels was a key member of the Canada team that won an Olympic silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games and has been a stalwart of the senior women\u2019s sevens set-up since her debut in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>It will be the first time that Daniels has tested herself in 15-a-side rugby outside of university competition with Queen\u2019s University.<\/p>\n<p>She returned for the Gaels at the latter end of 2025 after a year out with an ACL injury and helped the side win the OUA Women\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbypass.com\/the-rugby-championship\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Rugby Championship<\/a> and to bronze in the U SPORTS Women\u2019s Rugby Championship.<\/p>\n<p>The 22-year-old joins a Bears backline that contains Black Ferns playmaker <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbypass.com\/players\/ruahei-demant\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ruahei Demant<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbypass.com\/teams\/scotland-women\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Scotland<\/a> international <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbypass.com\/players\/emma-orr\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Emma Orr<\/a>, Welsh star Jasmin Joyce-Butchers, and up-and-coming talents <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbypass.com\/players\/reneeqa-bonner\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Reneeqa Bonner<\/a> and Millie David.<\/p>\n<p>After eight rounds Bristol are second-bottom in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbypass.com\/premiership-womens-rugby\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">PWR<\/a> table and have not registered a point since their Round 2 victory over Leicester Tigers.<\/p>\n<p>Scott Lawson, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbypass.com\/teams\/bristol-bears-women\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bristol Bears<\/a> head coach, said: \u201cChloe is a proven international performer with a real X-factor. Her speed, decision-making and work ethic really stood out to us, and she has the ability to change games in an instant.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeyond her on-field qualities, she\u2019s a driven professional who will raise standards within our environment. We\u2019re incredibly excited to welcome her to Bristol.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Daniels said: \u201cI\u2019m absolutely thrilled to be joining Bristol Bears Women.
