Police have released a photo of a 22-year-old woman who has gone missing, as a major search of the Menai Strait is carried out to find her. Gwenno Ephraim was last seen in the upper Bangor<\/a> area on Monday, July 28, and is believed to have walked towards Menai Bridge.<\/p>\n CCTV footage reviewed by North Wales Police officers appears to show Gwenno walking alone between the hours of 10.20pm and 11.10pm on Monday night. Personal items, believed to belong to Gwenno, were subsequently found on the Menai Suspension Bridge on Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n Search efforts in and around the waters of the Menai Strait have continued today (July 31), following several days of activity.<\/p>\n On Tuesday a HM Coastguard search and rescue helicopter, as well as Bangor, Llandwrog and Penmon coastguard rescue teams and RNLI lifeboats from Beaumaris and Moelfre were deployed in the search.<\/p>\n Despite extensive enquiries, attempts to locate Gwenno have so far been unsuccessful, reports North Wales Live<\/a>.<\/p>\n North Wales Police chief inspector Stephen Pawson said: \u201cOfficers investigating Gwenno\u2019s disappearance continue to follow many lines of enquiry in their efforts to trace her movements.<\/p>\n \u201cGwenno\u2019s family has been informed of the circumstances that led up to her disappearance and we will continue to provide support and timely updates as this investigation progresses.<\/p>\n \u201cOur thoughts are with all family members at what must be an extremely difficult time.<\/p>\n “We recognise the distress and emotional impact this investigation will have, and we are committed to supporting the family with the deployment of specially trained officers.<\/p>\n \u201cOur enquiries to date lead us to believe that Gwenno may have entered the waters of the Menai Strait.<\/p>\n \u201cOn the night she went missing, Gwenno was wearing grey jogging bottoms, a grey hoodie, and black trainers.<\/p>\n \u201cWe would like to hear from anyone who may have seen Gwenno on the night of July 28, or who may have dashcam footage of her walking from the Bangor area.<\/p>\n \u201cReports can be made to North Wales Police via 101, quoting iTrace reference 51505.\u201d<\/p>\n Get daily breaking news updates on your phone by joining our WhatsApp community here<\/a>.
