Arne Slot\u2019s recent unbeaten run hasn\u2019t got him out of the woods it seems, with Jermaine Pennant the latest to chime in on sacking the Liverpool manager. <\/p>\n

Coming off a positive performance against Arsenal, you would think the Slot<\/a> sacking talk could be given a rest. <\/p>\n

Pennant isn\u2019t on the same page, still suggesting a change in manager at Anfield<\/a> is possible. <\/p>\n

In his eyes, it depends on the outcome of a certain transfer saga that won\u2019t go away. <\/p>\n

Yes, the former Liverpool player is really putting Slot\u2019s future on the line with the Marc Guehi<\/a> saga. <\/p>\n

With each passing day, Guehi to Liverpool in January looks less likely<\/a>. Man City have stolen a lead in the race, and it could leave the Reds in a tough spot. <\/p>\n

On the latest episode of the Wildcards<\/a> podcast, Pennant claims: \u201cIf Guehi goes Man City, I think Arne Slot needs to get sacked.\u201d <\/p>\n

It\u2019s a bizarre statement considering the two things have little to do with one another. Slot isn\u2019t Liverpool\u2019s recruitment team, and missing out on Guehi is no reflection of him. <\/p>\n

Perhaps Pennant just thinks Liverpool\u2019s season depends on the transfer, and that losing out to Man City makes their prospects dire. <\/p>\n

Or maybe the former Liverpool man just wants to stir the pot. <\/p>\n

Liverpool favoured for Marc Guehi over Bayern, but\u2026 <\/p>\n

A report from BILD<\/a> journalist Hieko Niedderer on Friday suggested that Liverpool<\/a> is the more likely destination for Guehi in the summer than Bayern. <\/p>\n

It states: \u201c\u201cAt the moment they (Bayern) don\u2019t have much hope that a move for Marc Guehi could work out in the summer.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a shame really. You could easily imagine him in the Bundesliga as well, but I think if almost all the top English clubs are in for him, Liverpool are also interested, then it becomes pretty difficult for Bayern in the end.\u201d<\/p>\n

The problem is, he might not still be on the market come June. <\/p>\n

Crystal Palace have upped their asking price for Guehi<\/a>, but Man City might not be deterred given their current crisis. If they snap him up in the coming weeks, the Liverpool\/Bayern talk is a moot point. <\/p>\n

One thing I can say for sure is that it won\u2019t be Slot\u2019s fault. Pennant\u2019s comments are truly confusing. <\/p>\n
