\n Middleton Grove Nursing Home, in Portland Road, was assessed and found to be good, following the assessment on November 4, 2025.\n<\/p>\n
\n The home, which is managed by Middleton Grove Limted, provides accommodation with nursing care for older people with nursing needs and some who were living with dementia.\n<\/p>\n
\n The assessment was triggered by \u201cinformation of concern\u201d in respect to the care delivery and management of the service.\n<\/p>\n
\n However, the commission found people received good care which met their needs.\n<\/p>\n
\n Staff at the home were commended for understanding and managing risks effectively and keeping people safe.\n<\/p>\n
\n Managers were also found to make sure staff had been trained and regularly appraised “to maintain high-quality care”, according to the report.\n<\/p>\n
\n There were enough staff with the right skills and experience.\n<\/p>\n
\n Middleton Grove’s commitment to a “learning culture” was acknowledged in the report, emphasising the provider’s readiness to take concerns seriously.\n<\/p>\n
\n People were treated “with kindness and compassion”, and their privacy and dignity were respected.\n<\/p>\n
\n Individual preferences were supported with people encouraged to maintain relationships with family and friends.\n<\/p>\n
\n Staff were found to respond to people in a timely manner.\n<\/p>\n
\n People were positive about the quality of their care and felt safe and were involved in planning it.\n<\/p>\n
\n Those unable to communicate directly had their experiences assessed through a structured observation tool, which revealed that people were included, listened to and received positive interaction from staff.\n<\/p>\n
\n The inspection also noted that residents of the home felt comfortable raising complaints within the home.\n<\/p>\n
\n They expressed confidence that such actions would prompt improvements to be made.\n<\/p>\n
\n A “shared vision and culture” based on listening, learning, and trust was found among Middleton Grove\u2019s leaders and staff.\n<\/p>\n
\n Staff felt supported to give feedback and were treated equally.\n<\/p>\n
\n Middleton Grove collaborated with the local community and maintained a culture geared toward “continuous improvement”.\n<\/p>\n
