Australian and English players have buried the hatchet after the Ashes, coming together post-series to share drinks. <\/p>\n

After their 4-1 demolition of the tourists, the Australians invited their opponents into the SCG\u2019s Long Bar to continue the time-honoured tradition after the infamous English snub back in 2023 threw a spanner in the works. <\/p>\n

A picture shared by Code Sports reveals the Aussies and Poms continuing the historic tradition of capping an Ashes series with a well-earned beer or a few. <\/p>\n

The publication reports<\/a> players congregated at about 6.30pm on the night of the hosts\u2019 triumph to share beverages and conversation. <\/p>\n

The picture appears to show Australia captain Pat Cummins and several of his countrymen sharing a drink with at least two English players, though it isn\u2019t clear specifically who was present. <\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019t as if there hadn\u2019t been tense moments over the course of the series \u2014 from Jofra Archer\u2019s back-and-forth with Steve Smith, to Ben Stokes trying to put Marnus Labuschagne in his place, and Brydon Carse fuming after Jake Weatherald escaped dismissal. <\/p>\n

And unceremoniously, the post-series gathering didn\u2019t occur after the 2023 series in England, when the touring Australians were left waiting to be invited in to share drinks. <\/p>\n

Aussie players at the time confirmed they became \u201ca bit fed up\u201d<\/a> as attempts to join their English rivals for a post-series drink at the Oval fell through. <\/p>\n

But stand-in Australia captain Smith confirmed post-match on Thursday that, through it all, his side had invited the Poms in for a drink. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not sure what the plan is tonight,\u201d Smith said in his post-match press conference.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll go back in the sheds, I think the English will come in for a drink. We\u2019ve invited them in \u2013 don\u2019t laugh (pointing at journalists) \u2013 so hopefully they come in for a drink.
