A new week means a fresh batch of must-see shows are coming our way and we\u2019re here to help you navigate your way through them. From a must-see period drama<\/a> to not one but two brilliant crime thrillers, we\u2019ve got 7 superb shows that are absolutely worth a spot on your watchlist. <\/p>\n

For starters, there’s a gold standard mystery series in the form of Agatha Christie\u2019s Seven Dials – and you might be interested to know it\u2019s from the creator of Broadchurch<\/a>. We\u2019ve also got the return of Idris Elba to our screens (hello Hijack), a legal drama to take on The Split and how could we not mention The Traitors<\/a>? So, make yourself as home because these are the 7 shows to watch on ITV, Netflix, the BBC and more this week. <\/p>\n

Hijack\"idris<\/p>\n

The first series of this excellent crime thriller<\/a> saw business negotiator Sam Nelson (Idris Elba) tasked with dismantling a hostage crisis on a long-haul flight from Dubai to London. Series 2 is about to get uncomfortably real as Sam has swapped planes for a busy rush hour train in Berlin, which, yes, you guessed it, is taken over by hijackers. Can Sam can save the day and end the most terrifying commute of the passengers\u2019 lives? Series 2 is arriving on Apple TV+<\/a> on Wednesday 14th January.<\/p>\n

Agatha Christie\u2019s Seven Dials\"agatha<\/p>\n

Netflix<\/p>\n

Picture this: an adaptation of one of Agatha Christie’s most brilliant works by none other than the creator of Broadchurch. If it sounds too good to be true, you’ll be pleased to know it’s not. Chris Chibnall\u2019s latest series brings Christie’s 1929 murder mystery The Seven Dials Mystery back to life, which means we’ll be venturing to England 1925, where a lavish country house party goes awry when a practical joke appears to have gone horribly wrong. A stellar cast of British actors are on board including Helena Bonham-Carter in the role of Lady Caterham, Martin Freeman as Battle and Mia McKenna-Bruce as Lady Eileen \u201cBundle\u201d Brent. A gold standard series. Arriving on Netflix<\/a> on Thursday 15th January.

Industry \"tx<\/p>\n

If you’ve got something of a Succession-shaped hole in your life, Industry is well worth diving into. Set shortly after the 2008 financial crash, the series follows a group of young finance graduates as they climb the ladder at a fictional prestigious investment bank in London called Pierpoint & Co. We\u2019re now entering series 4 and the grads are at the top of their game, with Harper (Myha\u2019la) and Yasmin (Marisa Abela) drawn into a high-stakes, globetrotting cat-and-mouse game when a splashy fintech darling bursts onto the London scene. Yasmin is also navigating her relationship with tech founder Sir Henry Muck (Kit Harington) and Harper is pulled into the orbit of enigmatic executive Whitney Halberstram (Max Minghella). Series 4 is arriving on BBC One and BBC iPlayer<\/a> on Monday 12th January. <\/p>\n

Tell Me Lies \"tell<\/p>\n

Relationships don\u2019t get much more intoxicating than the one in Tell Me Lies. When Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen DeMarco (Jackson White) meet at college, they quickly fall into an addictive entanglement that will permanently alter not only their lives, but the lives of everyone around them. Series 3 sees the pair rekindle their romance just in time for their spring semester at Baird College, but no doubt it won\u2019t be long before this on-again, off-again relationship is indeed off again. Series 3 is arriving on Disney+<\/a> on Tuesday 13th January. <\/p>\n

If you haven\u2019t yet met undercover lawyer Madeline “Matty” Matlock, played by the legendary Kathy Bates, may we suggest you put this date in your diary. Part courtroom drama, part detective series, the hit show follows the septuagenarian at law firm Jacobson Moore. Matty\u2019s not, as she claims, the retired widower who\u2019s going back to work after her late husband racked up gambling debts. In fact, she\u2019s wealthy and happily married – but she has a cunning plan to expose corruption at the heart of law firm. Continues at 9pm on Sky Witness<\/a> on Wednesday 14th January.<\/p>\n

The Traitors \"tx<\/p>\n

Is this the most explosive series of The Traitors yet? Easily. As if the introduction of a Secret Traitor wasn\u2019t enough, said Secret Traitor only goes and outs a fellow Traitor. Sadly for Fiona, it didn\u2019t work and we said goodbye to her, but there\u2019s plenty more drama where that came from. Not least because the Faithfuls have been allowed to ask the Traitors some questions\u2026 oh the suspense! Series 4 continues on BBC One and BBC iPlayer<\/a> at 8pm on Wednesday 14th January. <\/p>\n

There\u2019s nothing quite like a good crime thriller<\/a> to get you through the January chill, and this one really is a good one. The blackmail drama tells the twisted story of a lawyer who steals a client\u2019s ring in a moment of madness \u2013 and finds herself being held to ransom as a result. You see, Anna (Hannah Hoekstra), stole from her wealthy client Simon (Benja Bruijning), who captured everything on camera. And in return for not sharing the footage and putting an end to Anna\u2019s career and life as she knows it, he insists she must sleep with him. But just how far is Anna prepared to go to stop everything from coming crashing down? Available to watch now on Channel 4 Streaming. <\/p>\n
