Tottenham\u2019s stance on Radu Dr\u0103gu\u0219in is starting to look more like a waiting game<\/a>, as mixed reports from Germany and Italy point in slightly different directions.<\/p>\n

According to German journalist Philipp Hinze<\/a>, Dr\u0103gu\u0219in was actively offered to RB Leipzig last summer and again during the current window. However, the update plays things down.<\/p>\n

Leipzig have not made an offer, talks are not underway, and the defender has only been discussed internally. For now, Hinze describe the situation as far from advanced.<\/p>\n

That version does not fully match what is being said in Italy.<\/p>\n

Gianluca Di Marzio<\/a> reports that Leipzig have now stepped into the race for the Tottenham centre-back, putting pressure on Roma\u2019s pursuit. From the Italian side, the suggestion is that the German club could become a genuine alternative.<\/p>\n

The key detail may be the deal structure. Roma are still pushing for a loan with an option to buy, a formula Tottenham have never seemed keen on. Leipzig, meanwhile, are described as being more open to a permanent move, which fits Spurs\u2019 preference much better.<\/p>\n

Put together, the picture feels familiar. Tottenham are in no rush. Dr\u0103gu\u0219in remains under contract, and different clubs are circling with very different ideas.<\/p>\n

Indeed, shortly before the RB Leipzig claims appeared, it was reported in Rome that Spurs had put a pause on proceedings<\/a>. The Premier League club haven\u2019t been convinced by Roma\u2019s offer and therefore wanted to wait for better.<\/p>\n

Tottenham were even presented as being prepared to edge it all towards the end of the window. That would obviously increase pressure on all parties involved.<\/p>\n

Spurs or the player\u2019s agent may be pushing the idea of Bundesliga interest, and exaggerating how big that actually is.<\/p>\n

By letting the window play out, Spurs appear happy to see whether Roma improve their terms or someone else steps forward with a cleaner offer.<\/p>\n
