{"id":368280,"date":"2026-01-13T23:54:08","date_gmt":"2026-01-13T23:54:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/368280\/"},"modified":"2026-01-13T23:54:08","modified_gmt":"2026-01-13T23:54:08","slug":"michelle-arrowsmith-appointed-new-executive-managing-director-at-kings-lynn-hospital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/368280\/","title":{"rendered":"Michelle Arrowsmith appointed new executive managing director at King\u2019s Lynn hospital"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A new executive managing director will join Lynn\u2019s Queen Elizabeth Hospital from next week.<\/p>\n<p>Michelle Arrowsmith will take on the top job from Monday, January 19, with Chris Bown &#8211; who has been in the role <a href=\"https:\/\/lynnnews.co.uk\/news\/seasoned-nhs-leader-takes-up-new-role-at-hospital-9420269\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">in an interim capacity since June last year<\/a> &#8211; departing.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Arrowsmith has more than 30 years of leadership experience, a clinical background as a dietitian and senior strategic and operational management roles with the NHS in England, and with healthcare organisations in New Zealand and Australia.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"rthmb\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg xmlns=\" http:=\"\" viewbox=\"0 0 6048 4024\" alt=\"Michelle Arrowsmith will take on the top job at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Lynn\" data-root=\"\/_media\/img\/\" data-path=\"4O4U5BSAYMWKH8R5ZBSS.jpg\" data-ar=\"1.50\"\/>Michelle Arrowsmith will take on the top job at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Lynn<\/p>\n<p>Her arrival comes at a challenging time for the QEH.<\/p>\n<p>As well as helping to handle the ongoing rebuild programme, she will also have to deal with the hospital being <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lynnnews.co.uk\/news\/shock-as-qeh-is-ranked-worst-hospital-in-the-country-9432861\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">recently ranked the worst in the country.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, general surgery is now operating under the clinical leadership of surgeons from the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals after a damning review found there has been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lynnnews.co.uk\/news\/damning-review-reveals-alarming-lapses-in-care-for-patient-9446384\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">serious lapses in care for patients.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"rthmb\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg xmlns=\" http:=\"\" viewbox=\"0 0 4391 3293\" alt=\"Chris Bown will depart the QEH next week\" data-root=\"\/_media\/img\/\" data-path=\"V1U0Y1GQHTP88ADLE47X.jpg\" data-ar=\"1.33\"\/>Chris Bown will depart the QEH next week<\/p>\n<p>At least one person <a href=\"https:\/\/lynnnews.co.uk\/news\/avoidable-deaths-ego-problems-and-toxic-culture-inside-the-9446628\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">died an avoidable death<\/a> due to this.<\/p>\n<p>Writing for the Lynn News in his final column, Mr Bown said: \u201cI\u2019ve been reflecting on my time at the QEH in Lynn &#8211; the last few months haven\u2019t always been easy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve faced real pressure, uncertainty and some tough moments and yet, time and again, I\u2019ve seen professionalism, compassion and teamwork shine through across all areas of the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur teams have supported one another, stayed focused on patients, and kept going when things were hard.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On Ms Arrowsmith\u2019s arrival, Mr Bown added: \u201cI know Michelle will be a great asset to the QEH team and I\u2019m excited to see to progress this great hospital makes in 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A new executive managing director will join Lynn\u2019s Queen Elizabeth Hospital from next week.
