A man has died on the A4174 ring road<\/a> near Bristol this evening (Wednesday, January 14).<\/p>\n

The ambulance service and Avon and Somerset Police<\/a> were called to the A4174, between Wraxall Road and Marsham Way in Longwell Green, just after 5.20pm.<\/p>\n

Sadly, a man was pronounced dead at the scene after a collision<\/a> with a car.<\/p>\n

Formal identification has yet to take place, but his next of kin have been informed and will be supported, police said.<\/p>\n

Emergency services remain at the scene as the road is still closed in both directions.<\/p>\n

Police have urged drivers to allow extra time for their journey and seek alternative routes if possible.<\/p>\n

Officers are keen to hear from anyone with dashcam footage of that section of the ring road between 4.45pm and 5.20pm.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “Emergency services are at the scene of a serious injury collision which has closed the A4174 between its junctions with Wraxall Road and Marsham Way, in Longwell Green.<\/p>\n

“Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene just after at 5.20pm on Wednesday, January 14.<\/p>\n

“Sadly, a man was pronounced dead at the scene following a collision with a car.<\/p>\n

“While formal identification has yet to take place, next of kin have been informed, and will be supported.<\/p>\n

“Drivers are urged to allow extra time for their journey and to seek alternative routes if possible.<\/p>\n

“Officers are keen to hear from anyone with dashcam footage of that stretch of road between 4.45pm and 5.20pm.<\/p>\n
