Ryan Gravenberch has sent a message to Sven Botman after he agreed a new contract with Newcastle United.<\/p>\n

Newcastle fans questioned Botman\u2019s new deal<\/a>, with the defender having suffered several injury issues over the past few seasons. <\/p>\n

This campaign has been another difficult one for the 26-year-old, who spent a month out of action with a hamstring injury before returning against Leeds United<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Liverpool were monitoring Botman\u2019s situation at Newcastle<\/a>, given their own issues in the centre of defence.<\/p>\n

Ibrahima Konate is set to leave Liverpool on a free transfer<\/a> at the end of the season, and Virgil van Dijk<\/a> has not quite been at his best.<\/p>\n

Despite Liverpool<\/a>\u2018s struggles this season, Gravenberch has continued to maintain a good level of performance<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The midfielder has played every single minute of all but three of the Reds\u2019 Premier League<\/a> games, and has been largely ever-present in the Champions League<\/a> as well.<\/p>\n

The Netherlands<\/a> international lacks an obvious back-up, given that Wataru Endo<\/a> has made just eight appearances across all competitions this season.<\/p>\n

The 32-year-old has spent the last month out with an ankle injury, but he was rarely selected by Arne Slot<\/a> even when he was fit. <\/p>\n

Luckily for Liverpool, however, Gravenberch<\/a> has largely been able to stay fit this season. <\/p>\n

The same cannot be said for Botman<\/a>, who shared his thoughts on Monday following confirmation of his new Newcastle<\/a> contract.<\/p>\n

In a post made to Instagram, he wrote that he is \u201cgrateful, proud and blessed\u201d to sign the new contract on what was his 26th birthday.<\/p>\n

Netherlands teammate Gravenberch was in the comments, responding with a love heart and a bicep pump emoji to celebrate the news.<\/p>\n

Jurrien Timber among several others to congratulate Botman<\/p>\n

Arsenal<\/a> and Netherlands defender Jurrien Timber<\/a> was among those to join Gravenberch in congratulating Botman on his new contract.<\/p>\n

Newcastle teammates Joe Willock<\/a>, Tino Livramento, Lewis Hall<\/a> and Aaron Ramsdale<\/a>, among several others, also left celebratory messages.<\/p>\n

Tottenham<\/a> defender Micky van de Ven<\/a> left a fire emoji, and Sunderland<\/a> man Reinilo<\/a>, who spent time with Botman at Lille<\/a>, also left an encouraging comment. <\/p>\n
