But last year it emerged she was really moving up a gear after landing a deal with World Tour team Picnic PostNL.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">That deal was announced in October after she had just taken two podium finishes at the Tour of Chongming Island World Tour stage race in China, with a three-year contract confirmed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">That\u2019s a deal that offers her real stability, and potential for development, in one of the most professional environments women\u2019s cycling has to offer. And the team has already set out clear plans for her over the next three years, during which it intends to help her grow into a stop sprinter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cMia joins us from a strong track background and the ambition to make it as a full-time road sprinter,\u201d said Team Picnic PostNL head coach Rudi Kemna at the time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cTogether we\u2019re starting a project that\u2019s exciting; the goal is for her to become a dedicated sprint finisher in the future, capable of competing for podiums in the biggest races.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cShe has already shown that she can challenge the best in the world. What she needs now is time, structure, and race experience, and we\u2019ll give her that.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cNext season she\u2019ll get plenty of sprint opportunities, especially in the pure fast-finisher races.
