Alex Albon<\/a>, and speaking to the media ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix this weekend, Sainz admitted that his season so far had been a frustrating one.<\/p>\n“Plenty of positives in terms of what I’ve found in the team with the ambition and the way we’re moving forward,” he said.<\/p>\n
“All the work that is being done in the background for next year and even on this year’s car, development and everything.<\/p>\n
“But everything that has happened on track in terms of results has been incredibly frustrating and very disappointing because I expected, after a good adaptation period with the car, to start getting results pretty quickly given how competitive and how fast I’ve been this year.<\/p>\n
“But for certain reasons, results are not coming and that frustrates me but I’m sure it will come at a point in the season.”<\/p>\n
He added: “Athletes in their careers go through better years and worse years, it happens to golfers, tennis players. You have years that everything seems to fall into a good side and years that everything seems to fall in the bad side.<\/p>\n
“It’s been a very challenging year in that sense to me, very difficult to gather any kind of momentum. Always different things happening.”<\/p>\n
Williams brought several upgrades to Belgium last weekend, which Sainz used to score his best result in a race during Saturday’s Sprint.<\/p>\n
With practice limited and the race held in the wet, he believes this weekend will be crucial to get a better understanding of the newer package.<\/p>\n
“I think it’s a weekend that is a good track to test, a track that all teams know very well,” he said.<\/p>\n
“Running the upgraded car has also led us to maybe different set-up directions for the future so it’s important this weekend that we get to understand those.<\/p>\n
