It\u2019s a big weekend of rugby league action with a total of 20 games set to be played as the postponed first round Challenge Cup games go ahead, the Championship season launches and four Super League clubs feature in pre-season friendlies.<\/p>\n
The weather claimed plenty of games last week with nine of the 17 scheduled Challenge Cup ties postponed as well as friendlies between Castleford Tigers and Oldham, as well as Swinton Lions and St Helens.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s Oldham who kick off the weekend\u2019s action though as they play on Friday night in the Championship opener against Salford RLFC, a game that is sure to catch the attention of many given the fact Salford were only granted RFL membership on December 22nd.<\/p>\n
That is one of nine games in the Championship this weekend with London Broncos hosting Widnes Vikings being another of the hotly anticipated matches.<\/p>\n
Elsewhere, two testimonials will take place featuring Super League sides with Huddersfield hosting York for Matty English\u2019s testimonial, whilst Castleford Tigers take on Leeds Rhinos for Brad Singleton\u2019s testimonial.<\/p>\n
For those fans who can\u2019t make it to any games, there is broadcast coverage of one match with the Sportsman YouTube channel set to show Siddal versus Waterhead in the Challenge Cup with Man of Steel Jake Connor the head coach of the hosts.<\/p>\n
