Three days into January, Morrissey’s 2026 started with the first slate of what promise to be many show cancellations<\/a> this year, as has become the former Smiths singer’s custom. But it seemed like things were actually picking up for Moz this time. After years of scrapped gigs and aborted album launches, this month he’s actually managed to share the lead single from new LP Make-Up Is A Lie<\/a> and gotten back onstage<\/a>. Now, the sad Morrissey news has resumed.<\/p>\n

Yes, it involves canceled concerts. Moz’s show tomorrow at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta has been canceled at the last minute “due to artist illness.” This comes after the show was rescheduled from May 14 of last year. Buying a Morrissey ticket in this day and age is like trying to kick a football held by Lucy Van Pelt, so you can’t feel that much sympathy for the Moz fans of the ATL.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, after half a decade of teasing<\/a> a collaboration<\/a> with Morrissey, A$AP Rocky finally released his long-teased Don’t Be Dumb<\/a>, and Moz isn’t among the many, many guests. On top of that, fellow English music icon Robbie Williams surprise-released his own long<\/a>–teased<\/a> album Britpop, which has a rippling synth track called “Morrissey” on which Williams clowns the “eccentric” Moz with lines like “I’m isolated deserted and friendless\/ But the beat goes on, and it feels tremendous.” You think they’d get along well, having both had shows in Turkey canceled<\/a> due to apparent support for Israel.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
