Chris Davies has challenged his Birmingham City players to build on their point at Swansea and take three points at Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Patrick Roberts<\/a> scored 18 minutes from time at the Swansea.com Stadium to cancel out Zan Vipotnik’s opener and earn Blues their first point away from home since November.<\/a><\/p>\n “It\u2019s something we\u2019ve wanted to address,” Davies said of Blues’ away point. “If we are going to improve away from home then it\u2019s going to be those types of performances in terms of the character, the grit, the determination \u2014 all those intangibles that you need in a game. They were all there today. I think we can view that as a good point and move on.<\/p>\n “It was a tight start but then Swansea had their tails up a little bit, got hold of the ball and had more possession than I would have liked. All the latest Blues news on Birmingham Live\u2019s Birmingham City FC Facebook page<\/a><\/p>\n “To go down gave us a mountain to climb but it wasn\u2019t necessarily the way they broke through, because that was a problem in itself, it was indicative of what we were doing, we just gave the ball away so easily 30 seconds before and it gave them the chance to launch another attack.<\/p>\n “We still had our moments in the first half, I felt like the game was well and truly alive and I said that to the players at half-time: \u2018We\u2019re right in this game but we need to be more aggressive. We need to press them more. We need to be 10 or 15 yards higher up the field with our defensive line and we need to get on the ball and play quicker.’<\/p>\n “I thought we saw a much better performance in the second half.”<\/p>\n Blues now travel to basement side Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday looking for their first away victory in three months.<\/p>\n Davies<\/a> added: “It\u2019s a performance to build on today. As I said to the players, we have the opportunity to go a step further against Sheffield Wednesday.<\/p>\n “We should anticipate it being a very difficult match but we have a chance away from home to go and get that victory.
